Valladolid is the ideal location for an intensive Spanish course for several reasons:

  • The Spanish, or Castilian, spoken in this area of Spain is pronounced very clearly.
  • Valladolid is an attractive capital city with plenty of cultural activity and it is also clean and safe. In addition, there are not so many tourists as in other, better known cities.

It is also home to winners of the Cervantes Prizes for literature and this cultural atmosphere is easily perceived as you wander through the streets.
  • Valladolid is also well known for its 'tapas' and outstanding cuisine and of course, it is in the heart of the Ribera de Duero wine region.
  • Valladolid is strategically situated and is convenient for visiting many places of touristic interest, including World Heritage cities.

As well as this, Valladolid is an important historic city, birthplace of kings and the place where the Court was based and where Christopher Columbus died. It is a city which has maintained its most deep-rooted popular, gastronomic and cultural traditions and, at the same time, offers a wide range of cultural activities.
